Supporting the Support Worker
We value our support workers hugely, and we invest much time ensuring you are well matched with participants and can complete the work that will help you achieve your personal and professional goals.
When Anna started with us in 2021, she was a little nervous, having joined us from a different sector. But she felt immediately at ease after her first shift, which was held with another staff member. Anna said she felt welcomed and learnt about the care plan, routines, and participant behaviour on her first day. It was an easy adjustment.
Career Development
We ensure we take the time to understand what makes you tick and how you like to work and respond to your team. Discovering how best you learn allows us to invest in your training and development within FGCS. We're proud to say that we still have staff working with us from our beginning in 2017.
We provide progression and career development pathways for those interested to allow you to discover new passions within the industry.
Masoma joined us when she was studying Speech Pathology. We provided her with the opportunity to work with participants with Autism and Down Syndrome, which she found helpful to her learning. She says working at FGCS "feels like helping a family member or friend, not just a client."
Jobs with Flexibility
FGCS provide multiple opportunities for shift work or splitting shorter shifts across the day, which means that you can work around study, work or family commitments you may have.
